Being thrown into a pandemic brings about a certain level of chaos in our daily lives. Things that we take for granted- like toilet paper, cleaning supplies, hand sanitizer and soap- have been hard to locate and only offered in limited quantities.
Working from home and homeschooling children are now required in most areas of the country for the duration of the pandemic.
Dealing with this sudden interruption in our daily routines can be challenging!

Heading out into nature has always worked for me. Getting into your car and just enjoying the views on a long, scenic drive may work best for some folks. Finding a local hiking trail if time allows is another option. Vitamin D and fresh air can really soothe the soul!
Prioritizing Your Needs
Self-care needs to take a front seat during these times. Caring for yourself in whatever way works best for you and your family is absolutely critical right now. Consider spending time alone, taking a long bath or a long walk, or even just getting up a little earlier to relax and enjoy the sunrise while planning the day ahead. However you accomplish this- just do it! Make this a priority- it will reduce stress and give you a break from a chaotic world.
Just like our spirit, our bodies need proper nourishment every day. I will be the first to admit that I do not drink enough water, but I am working on it every day. A minimum amount would be the 8 x 8 rule ( in other words drink eight 8 oz glasses of water daily). Eating healthy vegetables, meats and dairy products is also very important. I prefer organic where possible; however, this is a personal preference.
In the end, all of us are doing the best we can to ride this wave.
